S prijateljima rado igra briškulu i trešetu.

Malo dođe do zamora.

Điđi’s wife is from Savičenta. They got married in 1976 in the former register office (today the Witch’s House).

Today’s Mediterranean Dance Centre used to be a community centre. In the 1980s, it hosted different bands and well-known performers. It was always packed. On New Year’s Eve, tables were all around, you would go there with your family or friends. Điđi was a regular, he sometimes worked as a doorman.
The town was a real town then, later that town feel dissolved.

He enjoys playing the card games Briscola and Tresette with his friends. Their stake is “two decilitres of sparkling water.” One day he wins, another day he loses. He plays to socialise, most often at Mirjana’s (Žlinja café) because of the nice shade.

This is a beautiful square. As a young man, I did not understand where I had arrived or why, now I do, but it’s too late.
There’s the loggia, the castle, the church, the square. You have everything you need in one place. You don’t have to go to Europe to find something special…
Once the square used to be so nice and pretty, but now it gets really crowded. It’s all right during daytime, but it gets annoying in the evening. Weddings and other events are held in the castle. In the summer, all the time. It’s fine if they finish by midnight, but it’s tiresome when they last deep into the night. Sometime the parties go on until 2, 3, or 5 o’clock in the morning. That can be irritating. I have never said anything because I liked to party when I was young, I liked everything.

Wintertime is a more tranquil period in Savičenta, Điđi spends most of his time at home. He goes out for coffee in the morning, plays cards with his friends. He comes home around noon or 1 o’clock and that’s it, he doesn’t have to go out anymore.
